Condensing boilers achieve high efficiency by condensing water vapour in the exhaust gases and so recovering its latent heat of vaporisation, which would otherwise have been wasted. This condensed vapour leaves the system in liquid form, via a drain. In other words they don’t need as much gas as non condensing boilers so are much more efficient. If your boiler is over 10 years old and not condensing or you have a tank in the airing cupboard and not using all the hot water that’s been stored, please give us a call and we can explain how a new boiler or system change could suit you and your home and save you money.
The majority of our repairs, if parts are obtainable, take only 1 to 3 hours. If we believe it will take any longer, our boiler engineers will explain in detail your options and estimated costs. We only charge a maximum of 5 hours for a repair. In most cases if a boiler is over 15 years old then any expensive repairs should be avoided as your money could be invested in a more economical way. We will always go over and above to give best advice but understand the importance of our customers budget and find the best solution.
